THE NEVERENDING AIRFLIGHT LINE

Air flights are quite miraculous, in the sense of what transpires --
bodies moved from here to there in a tube with wings and tires.

Most flights are comfortable enough, even reasonably on time;
the disconcerting problem is The NeverEnding Line.

It begins with Line of traffic just to reach the terminal door.
Then comes the Line for ticket checks –slow moving, such a bore.

If you choose to check your luggage, besides patience and a prayer,
that Line requires endurance – it’s a long while you’ll be there.

The Security Line is slower still, with bleeps and beeps you hate,
until a lengthy corridor march in Line to reach your gate.

Gate Line to retrieve a boarding pass, then Line to board the plane,
another Line to find your seat (and hopefully storage space).

The takeoff Line of planes and planes is impressive from afar,
but sitting in Line without air flow is stuffier than a bar.

Eventually descending in the ‘holding pattern’ Line,

you land and stand, and wait and wait while passengers unwind.

Hurry up to wait in Line praying baggage will show up,

then yet another Line to check the tags – enough’s enough!

Air flights are quite miraculous: you were there and now you’re here.
The NeverEnding Line is just a price you pay, it’s clear.
